FAQs/Tips

Here at Style the Knot we get a lot of emails from potential customers wanting to know more and also from our beloved clients right before their wedding day. In an effort to answer some of these questions we decided to publish some of our most frequently asked questions here for the benefit of all. Have a look and if there are anymore questions please feel free to contact us.

  • How should I prepare for my hair and/or makeup services?
    • All recipients of services should arrive with clean, makeup-free, recently moisturized skin. We do not recommend having a facial within a week of your wedding. To look your best get plenty of rest and drink lots of fluids. Day-old hair provides the best medium and hold for styling.Everyone need to arrive with dry hair because blow drying takes time and is considered an added service. We recommend everyone receiving services wear a button-down or zip up shirt and to bring any hair accessories or veils.
  • Do you require a deposit to hold a wedding date?
    • Yes. A 50% deposit and a signed contract is required to hold a date. Holding a date requires us to turn down services for other brides. It is important then that we obtain some sort of commitment from you in order for us to turn away other business. We do have tiered cancellation fees on our deposits to accommodate any changes.
  • How much do you charge for a trial run?
    • The first trial run for the bride is complimentary. We offer this service so you get to meet us and see what you will look like on your day. It gives you a feel for our work and leaves you prepared for your special day. Your wedding day is not the time to be freaking out about your hair and makeup or trying different styles. Stressed brides are not what we strive for.
    • We do not offer a complimentary trial run for bridesmaids or other wedding party members. The products used are expensive and it is time consuming. We prefer to make this period a time to focus on the bride. We may be able to do a trial run for an additional fee for those that would really like this service.
  • Do you offer airbrush makeup?
    • No.There are many opinions on the superiority of each makeup style but when it comes down to it you are only as good as your makeup artist. We love the natural look you get from traditional makeup and the ability to do touch-ups easily. Airbrush makeup does not allow for this flexibility especially after getting wet. Traditional makeup lends itself better to imperfect skin allowing it to lightly and naturally correct. It is also quieter and more comfortable to receive.
  • Can you stay on-location and touch-up hair and makeup throughout the day?
    • Yes. Although our hair and makeup holds really well (we had a bride hike to the top of a mountain after her wedding and she still looked fabulous), we do offer this service especially for those with long days planned or outfit changes. We realize you payed a lot of money for photographers, videographers, and the wedding itself and want to look your best with customized attention throughout the day. Prices may vary so please contact us for a quote.
